Glen Hansard, the frontman of the Irish band The Frames released his first solo album called The Swell Season, in collaboration with a Czech singer and multiinstrumentalist Markéta Irglová. Violinist Marja Tuhkanen and the cellist Bertrand Galen (both recently performing with the Irish band Interference) also collaborated on this record. The album was released on April 21st, 2006 (on Glen Hansard's 36th birthday). Four of these tunes can be heard at the official myspace site, at http://www.myspace.com/theswellseason.
